About Olive Groove
Our Story

Building a movement,
not just a programme

Olive Groove was born from a simple belief — that transforming education in Kenya starts with the teacher in the room.

A hub built for Kenya's classrooms

Olive Groove started as a response to a real, urgent need: Kenya's education system was shifting dramatically with the introduction of the Competency-Based Curriculum, yet most teachers had little practical support in making that shift.

We set out to change that. Not through lectures and handouts — but through hands-on, project-based experiences that show teachers exactly what modern, engaging, relevant education looks like in practice.

Today, Olive Groove operates a dedicated learning hub and runs workshops across schools in Kenya — bringing robotics, agriculture STEM, and project-based learning directly to educators and students.

Our core values

🤲
Hands Before Textbooks

Every concept is worth more when you can hold it, build it, or test it. We design learning that starts with doing.

🌍
Rooted in Kenya

Our curriculum draws from Kenya's strengths — its agricultural heritage, its resilient communities, its ambitious youth.

🔁
Teachers First

Lasting change flows through educators. When we equip a teacher, we multiply our impact across every student they'll ever teach.

💡
Curiosity as a Method

We don't deliver answers — we design experiences that make people ask better questions.

📐
Project-Based Everything

PBL isn't one of our tools — it's our philosophy. Every programme we run is built around a meaningful challenge.

🤝
Long-Term Partnership

We don't do drive-by training. We walk with schools through implementation, challenge, and growth.

How we got here

2022

The Idea Takes Root

Olive Groove begins as a grassroots initiative — a group of passionate educators and STEM practitioners who see a gap in how Kenya's new CBC/CBE curriculum is being implemented in schools.

2023

First School Workshops

We run our first school outreach workshops — bringing Arduino kits, robotics builds, and PBL facilitation to classrooms across Kenya. Teachers respond with enthusiasm. The demand grows faster than anticipated.

2024

The Hub Opens

Olive Groove establishes its physical base — a dedicated STEM learning hub where teachers and students can come for immersive training, equipment access, and community. Agriculture STEM is added as a flagship programme.

2025

Growing the Movement

With 50+ teachers trained and 10+ schools reached, Olive Groove is scaling. We're expanding our programme offerings, deepening school partnerships, and building towards a nationally recognised PBL teacher certification.

Be part of the change

Whether you want to partner, bring a workshop to your school, or simply learn more — we'd love to hear from you.
