How We Work

Workshops that fit
your school

Two ways to engage with Olive Groove — we come to you, or you come to us. Either way, transformation follows.

Two formats. One mission.

Every school is different. We offer two flexible formats so that distance, budget, and schedule are never a barrier to great STEM education.

What happens at a workshop

STEP 01
Welcome & Context

We open with a discussion of CBC/CBE's vision and why project-based learning is the key to making it work in real classrooms.

STEP 02
Hands-On Build

Participants work in teams to build and programme — robots, agricultural sensors, or structured design challenges depending on the programme.

STEP 03
Teach-Back

Teachers design a mini-lesson using what they've learned and practise facilitating it with peers — building real classroom confidence.

STEP 04
Plan & Support

Participants leave with a completed project plan for their own class, plus ongoing access to the Olive Groove support network.

Frequently asked

How long does a school workshop take?
Most school outreach workshops run for a full day (6–8 hours), though we also offer half-day and multi-day formats. Multi-day workshops allow for deeper programme work and actual classroom implementation with students.
Do we need to have any prior STEM experience?
Not at all. Our workshops are designed for teachers of all backgrounds. We start from first principles and build confidence progressively. Many of our most enthusiastic participants come from humanities backgrounds.
What equipment do you bring?
We supply everything needed for the workshop — Arduino kits, robot chassis, sensors, VR headsets, laptops, a projector, and all consumables. Your school just needs a room with tables and power sockets.
How many teachers can attend at once?
School outreach workshops can accommodate 15–30 participants comfortably. For larger schools, we can run consecutive sessions. Hub immersion programmes are capped at 12 participants for quality of experience.
Is there ongoing support after the workshop?
Yes. All participants gain access to the Olive Groove teacher network, our resource library, and follow-up consultation sessions. We believe a workshop is a beginning, not an end.
